This is education, not medical care

True Mind is an educational tool. It summarises published research on factors associated with dementia risk at a population level and shows you how your own answers line up against those factors. That is all it does.

It is not a diagnosis, a screening test, a prognosis, or a prediction of whether you will develop dementia. It does not estimate your probability of developing any condition. It cannot detect disease, and a low score does not mean you are not at risk.

Using this site does not create a clinician–patient relationship between you and us. No one reviews your answers, because we never receive them.

Talk to a clinician before changing anything

Do not start, stop, or change any medication, treatment, hearing or vision device, or care plan based on this tool. Discuss any change with a qualified clinician who knows your history. If you are worried about your memory or thinking, see a clinician — do not use this tool in place of that visit.

If you think you may have a medical emergency, contact your local emergency services immediately.

The limits of the science

The weighting used here comes from published population research. Applying population-level findings to one individual is inherently imprecise, and we describe those limits openly on our evidence and method page. Please read it. The score has not been validated against clinical outcomes in a research cohort, and we do not claim that it has been.

Research changes. We may update the factors, the weighting, or the wording, which means a score you receive today may differ from one you would receive later with identical answers.

Acceptable use

Use the tool for your own personal education. Do not use it to make clinical decisions about other people, do not present its output as a medical assessment, and do not scrape, resell, or redistribute it as your own. The content and code are ours; you may of course share a link, print your own results, and show them to your clinician.

No warranty, and limits on liability

The tool is provided free of charge, as is, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or accuracy. We do not promise the site will be available, error-free, or up to date.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for any decision you make about your health based on this tool. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

Privacy, changes, and contact

How we handle data is described in our privacy and health data policy. We may update these terms; the date at the top will change when we do, and continuing to use the site means accepting the current version.
